Solstice is an independent book and music store located along the Gatineau River in the beautiful rural village of Wakefield Quebec.  Just starting our 5th year, we have become an integral member of the community, offering a number of special events, including author readings, children’s arts and craft workshops, young adult and adult writing workshops and we are a founding member of Wakefest, an annual multi arts festival taking place the last weekend of August here in Wakefield.

Our book inventory includes all genres, although we specialize in literary fiction and current affairs.  Almost every book is hand picked, as is the music.  We make sure to always have local writers and musicians well represented on our shelves.  We also carry world music, folk and recent popular releases.  We have a large selection of children’s books, both in English and French, and our young adult section is always bursting at the seams!

We also carry greeting cards, magazines, gift and novelty items, children’s craft kits, crayola products, journals, puzzles, local art, calendars and more. 

And if you aren’t in need of a new book or CD, you can always drop in for a latte, use our guest computer to check your email, or send a fax.
